Guangdong Hot-Melt Suppliers Flag Longer Lead Times on EVA Grades for Carton Sealing
South China hot-melt makers report stretched delivery windows on common EVA carton-sealing grades as export case-seal programs firm into late July.
Hot-melt adhesive exporters in Guangdong say lead times for widely used EVA carton-sealing grades have lengthened by roughly one to two weeks versus early June, as case-seal and tray-erect programs for export goods rebuild inventory.
Availability is tighter on mid-viscosity grades preferred for high-speed case sealers; specialty low-odor and high-heat-resistance SKUs remain longer-cycle and less substitutable without line trials.
Why buyers care: sealing failures and adhesive substitutions often surface only after first bulk runs, when nozzle temperature and open time no longer match the approved sample.
Buyer takeaways
Lock adhesive grade, soft point, and viscosity method on the PO—not only drum price.
Ask whether July–August volume is mill-reserved or spot-allocated.
Re-qualify any grade swap on the actual case sealer before mass production.
