What Is a Buckled U-Edge Protector?

A buckled U-edge protector is a U-shaped paper or laminated edge board with a buckle, clip, or locking feature that helps retain the protector on a panel or strap path. It protects edges while reducing slip during handling compared with a plain open U-channel.
Read the geometry
The U-profile wraps two faces and the edge between them. Leg length, wall thickness, inside radius, and cut length decide coverage. The buckle or clip is a retention aid, not a substitute for correct strap tension design.
Where buyers use it
Furniture panels, appliance cartons, sheet goods, and strapped pallet loads where plain L-boards slide or leave one face exposed. It is common in wood-free export packs that combine edge board with stretch wrap and strapping.
