What is paper edge board used for in export packing?
L- or U-profile paper edge board protects carton corners under strapping and container stacking. It is a wood-free alternative to timber dunnage on many furniture and appliance lanes.
How do I spec edge board instead of buying “corner protectors”?
Freeze leg length, caliper, length, wet-strength if sea or monsoon routes apply, print if branded, and whether you need buckle, V-cut, or wrap styles. Length-only quotes are not comparable.
When do I need dunnage air bags versus edge board?
Edge board protects edges under straps. Dunnage bags fill container voids to stop load shift. Many export packs need both. Spec fill pressure and void size for bags separately from edge-board caliper.
What should a transport-protection RFQ include?
Profile (L/U/wrap), dimensions, wet-strength, destination climate, strap type (PP/PET), load photos or pack drawing, monthly volume, and Incoterms. Include a trial load photo standard.
