Quick answer

A usable PP strapping seal spec freezes strap width/thickness, seal or weld method, tension window, and joint-strength expectations with edge protection. “Strap it tight” is not a specification and fails at hubs that re-tension loads.

Define the load

Record pallet weight, height, carton crush risk, and whether straps run over edge board. Sharp corners cut strap life and joint reliability.

Lock strap and seal method

State PP strap grade, seal type (buckle, friction weld, heat seal), and tool settings. Mixed tools across warehouses create inconsistent joints.

Set tension and checks

Give a tension range that stabilizes the load without crushing cartons. Require joint inspection photos in the pack-out SOP.

Validate as a system

Trial straps with wrap, edge board, and container void fill if used. Approve one pack-out sheet before peak shipping weeks.
