Buyer FAQ

Questions buyers ask before sourcing this category

Short answers for RFQ prep. Full buying guides are in Related Knowledge on this page.

What stretch film and strapping do export plants buy from China?

Machine- or hand-grade stretch film for pallet wrap, plus PP or PET strapping for cartons and unit loads. Spec gauge, width, and break strength—not roll price alone.

How do I choose stretch-film gauge for pallet stability?

Match gauge and pre-stretch to load weight, sharp corners, and whether the wrap is machine or hand applied. Thin film that tears at corners is more expensive than a slightly heavier gauge that holds.

PP versus PET strapping—what should buyers freeze?

Width, thickness, break strength, elongation, and whether the strap runs on hand tools or automatic machines. PP and PET are not always interchangeable on the same head.

What belongs on a wrapping-materials RFQ?

Film gauge/width or strap strength class, machine vs hand use, core size, meters per roll, destination climate, monthly volume, and a tear/break test note. Compare cost per wrapped pallet, not per roll.
