Custom Label Printing from China: Buyer Checklist
Buyer checklist for custom label printing from China: artwork prep, color management, finishes, compliance icons, sampling gates, MOQ, and RFQ fields that keep quotes comparable.
Quick answer
Brief custom label printing with locked dielines, color targets, face/adhesive, and finish stack before asking for unit price. Most reprint waste comes from approving RGB mockups on the wrong face stock.
Artwork and color
Provide vector dielines, bleed, and fonts outlined. Approve color on production face stock under agreed light. Soft-touch and metallic faces shift perceived color—plan for it.
Finish stack decisions
Aqueous, UV varnish, laminate, foil, and screen whites on clear film. Over-finishing raises cost and can hurt barcode grades. Keep critical scan panels cleaner.
Compliance and claims icons
Recycling marks, food icons, and language panels must match legal review for each market. Do not let factories invent icon packs from “similar jobs.”
Sampling gates
Drawdown/proof on face stock → printed sample roll/sheet → applicator trial if automated. Sign rub, adhesion, and scan results.
