Self-Adhesive Labels from China: Buying Guide
Buyer guide to self-adhesive labels from China: face stocks, adhesives, liners, durability, print methods, MOQ, and RFQ fields for packaging and product labeling programs.
Quick answer
Source self-adhesive labels by locking face stock, adhesive, liner, application surface, and durability (water, oil, freeze, abrasion)—not by buying “sticker paper” from a PDF mockup. Wrong adhesive is the top field failure.
Face stock choices
Paper, PP/PE films, metallized faces, and specialty synthetics. Clear-on-clear “no-label look” needs different adhesive and liner discipline than kraft paper labels. State squeeze-bottle flex, glass, corrugated, or painted metal as the apply surface.
Adhesive and liner
Permanent, removable, freezer-grade, and aggressive adhesives serve different lanes. Liner type affects die-cutting and automatic applicators. Share applicator brand/model when labels run on lines.
Print and finishing
Flexo, digital, and offset each fit different volume/graphics. Define varnish, laminate, and whether barcodes must scan after abrasion. Approve scans on the real face stock after rub/condensate tests if relevant.
Die-cutting and rolls vs sheets
Roll direction, core size, and wound-out specs matter for applicators. Sheet labels suit short runs and manual apply. Ask for matrix stripping quality and waste handling on complex shapes.
