FAQ
What Is Permanent Label Adhesive?
Short FAQ on permanent label adhesive: what it means for packaging labels, limits of the term, and what to request on China RFQs.
Quick answer
Permanent label adhesive means the pressure-sensitive glue is designed for lasting stick with fiber tear or difficult clean removal—not for easy repositioning. It is a performance class, not a single chemical formula, so buyers must still name surface, temperature, and test method.
What does the term help with?
Separating shipping/security labels from removable promo stickers when RFQs would otherwise say only “strong glue.”
What does it not guarantee?
“Permanent” does not guarantee adhesion on soft-touch, oily, or freezer surfaces. Always pair the claim with face stock and pack-out tests.
What should RFQs request?
Ask for adhesive family, application temperature range, expected peel/fiber-tear behavior, and sample packs on your real surface.
RFQ
Surface; climate; permanent vs removable
Face stock; adhesive notes; sample packs
Barcode if any; monthly volume
Substitution ban; Incoterms
