Quick answer
Specify filament tape from the carton weight, handle stress, and seal pattern—not from “strong tape” marketing. Lock fiber reinforcement, backing, adhesive family, width, and adhesion targets on the actual board grade.
Define the closure job
Heavy appliance kits, long RSC flaps, and cartons that are lifted by taped seams need different reinforcement than light e-commerce boxes. State stack height and whether tape also acts as a tear strip or handle assist.
Lock construction
Name glass or synthetic filament type, filament count/pattern if critical, film or paper backing, and hot-melt vs acrylic adhesive. Width and number of L-clips or center seals belong on the pack-out drawing.
Test on production board
Dust, recycled fibers, and cold pack rooms kill adhesion. Approve after application on production cartons with realistic dwell and drop/handling checks.
