How to Spec EVA Insert Density for Cosmetic Kits

Quick answer
Specify EVA inserts by density/hardness class, cavity tolerances, odor limits, and surface contact behavior—not by color alone. Cosmetics kits fail when bottles rattle, soft coatings scuff, or inserts smell after sealing in a rigid box.
Start from the kit BOM
List bottles, compacts, droppers, and literature thicknesses. Mark glossy or soft-touch parts that cannot rub on rough foam.
Lock density and feel
State density or Asker hardness targets and whether CNC, die-cut layered, or molded EVA is intended. Soft foam that looks premium can still trap powder poorly.
Control cavities
Give critical diameters, depth, and retention force expectations. Over-tight cavities scratch pumps; loose cavities allow transit rattle.
Approve odor and color
Require odor acceptance after boxing and any color standards for brand presentation. Export heat can amplify EVA odor in sealed gift boxes.
