Hang Tag Material and String Spec Checklist for Apparel
Apparel hang-tag checklist: board grade, print/finish, hole strength, string/elastic, barcode placement, attachment method, and RFQ fields for China tag suppliers.
Quick answer
A usable hang-tag spec freezes board grade, size, hole reinforcement, string or fastener type, print/finish, and barcode placement. Pretty tag art fails when holes tear in store handling or codes sit on folds.
Define the attachment job
State garment type, attachment point, and whether tags must survive steam, humidity, or long retail handling. Soft apparel and hard accessories stress holes differently.
Lock material and hardware
Specify board GSM/caliper, coatings, hole diameter, eyelet if any, and string/elastic/plastic fastener grade. String color and knot method belong in the spec.
Protect variable data
Place barcodes and size info away from folds, punches, and string paths. Require graded barcode checks on finished tags.
Approve production process
Sign off die-cut, print, and stringing from the intended process—not hand-cut prototypes that hide hole strength issues.
