Product Overview
Water-based overprint varnish (OPV) is applied as a final coating over printed sheets to enhance gloss, improve rub resistance, and protect the printed surface from scuffing and moisture. Water-based formulations offer significantly lower VOC emissions compared to solvent-based varnishes, improving workplace safety and environmental compliance.
HuiRun Print's water-based OPV range is compatible with inline and offline coating equipment, including varnishing units on offset presses, dedicated coating machines, and laminating equipment. The varnishes dry quickly through water evaporation and film formation, enabling efficient production flow.
Water-based varnishes are particularly well-suited for food packaging applications where solvent residues are a concern. The formulations provide good gloss development, acceptable rub resistance, and moisture barrier properties for folding cartons, labels, and paperboard packaging.
Available in gloss, matte, and satin finishes, water-based OPV can be applied over conventional offset inks and certain UV inks (consult technical data for compatibility). HuiRun Print provides application guidance on coating weight, drying parameters, and equipment setup to achieve optimal finish quality and production efficiency.
