Questions buyers ask before sourcing this category
Short answers for RFQ prep. Full buying guides are in Related Knowledge on this page.
What is the difference between a paper tube and a composite can?
A paper tube is usually a spiral-wound cylinder for posters, cores, or industrial use. A composite can adds ends, liners, and often food or gift closures. RFQ the construction, not the nickname.
What specs matter most for paper cans from China?
Inner diameter, wall thickness, length, liner/barrier, end type (metal, paper, plastic), print wrap, and whether food-contact files are required. Small-diameter beauty cans are a different line than industrial cores.
Do food paper cans need different suppliers than gift tubes?
Often yes. Food programs need liner/barrier, easy-peel or lid specs, and contact documentation. Gift tubes prioritize print and rigidity. Mixing both on one “paper can” RFQ produces unusable quotes.
What belongs on a paper-tube RFQ?
ID, wall, length, ply/liner stack, ends and fitment, print process, food-contact needs, quantity ladder, and sample stages. Ban silent liner substitutions after artwork freeze.
