Carton crease strength describes how a scored folding carton blank resists opening force or holds a fold—buyers use related score/crease checks to predict forming and spring-back. It is not a substitute for production fold tests on your dieline.
What does the metric help with?
Comparing board lots and catching scores that are too stiff or too weak for automated packing.
What does it not guarantee?
A “good” crease number does not ensure print scuff resistance or glue adhesion. Always pair it with visual score quality and glue-window checks.
What should RFQs request?
Ask for the test method if used, score rule specs, and production fold photos. Prefer retained blanks from the approved lot for critical SKUs.
