How to Request Adhesive TDS and Trial Protocols from China Suppliers
Sourcing guide to requesting adhesive TDS and trial protocols from China suppliers: required data fields, sample gates, line-trial design, acceptance criteria, and PO language.
Quick answer
Request adhesive TDS with measurement methods, then attach a written trial protocol before any volume PO. A brochure PDF without viscosity method, gel data, or acceptance criteria is not enough for corrugating or carton sealing programs.
Demand method-based TDS fields
Ask for viscosity method, solids, pH or alkali notes where relevant, gel/softening data, shelf life, storage, and recommended substrates. Require SDS alongside the TDS.
Write the trial protocol
Define substrate, machine, speed, coat weight, climate, sample size, tests (pin adhesion, fiber tear, warp, clean-up), and pass/fail rules. Name who signs the OK sheet.
Control samples and lots
Label trial lots, retain sealed samples, and ban silent reformulation after approval. Any change to starch source, additive package, or viscosity window should reopen the trial gate.
Tie documents to commercial terms
Link deposit or balance milestones to complete TDS/SDS and an approved trial record. Put re-approval triggers in the PO annex.
