Questions buyers ask before sourcing this category
Short answers for RFQ prep. Full buying guides are in Related Knowledge on this page.
What flexible packaging do export brands source from China?
Stand-up pouches, flat pouches, laminated roll stock, and printed barrier films for food, pet, and personal-care refills. Freeze laminate structure before artwork—unit price on a photo is not a spec.
How do I compare pouch quotes fairly?
Lock layer stack and thickness, zipper or spout hardware, barrier targets, print process, and seal-test method. Quotes that omit structure are comparing different products.
When do I need aluminum or metallized barrier?
When oxygen, moisture, or light limits are written into the product spec. Do not copy a competitor pouch. Ask for OTR/WVTR methods and a trial on your fill, not a brochure retort claim.
What belongs on a flexible-packaging RFQ?
Finished size and fill volume, layer structure, zipper/spout/tear, barrier/process targets, food-contact files, print colors, quantity ladder, and sample path. Ban silent film-grade swaps.
