Quick answer

White-top linerboard is a corrugated liner with a white printable face over a kraft or recycled base. Buyers choose it when outer graphics and barcode contrast matter more than a full kraft brown look.

How it differs from kraft liner

The white face improves print holdout and brand panels; the base still contributes stiffness. Shade, brightness, and mottling vary by mill—approve print on the actual liner, not only on coated proofing stock.

When to specify white-top

Retail-ready corrugated, high-coverage flexo, and barcodes that must scan on the outer face. For pure shippers with one-color handling marks, kraft liner is often enough and cheaper.
